County Circuit Court
Becky M. Robinson - Republican
Becky M. Robinson is a lifelong resident of Spencer County and was raised on her family farm in Little Mount. From a young age, she was brought up to work on the farm and developed a strong work ethic.
After graduating from Taylorsville High School and Watterson College, Robinson began a career in the telecommunications industry and worked outside the county for a major company for over 20 years gaining an extensive background in customer service and management as well as legal, regulatory, and real estate matters.During this time, Robinson was also co-owner and operator of a family restaurant and gift shop business for 7 years here in Spencer County. After Robinson’s telecommunications position was relocated out of state, she attained her Kentucky Real Estate license and worked in real estate for a short time. In 2006, when the former circuit court clerk announced her retirement, Robinson considered seeking the office of circuit court clerk as an opportunity to use her background and experience in a positive way to benefit the citizens of Spencer County. Robinson ran for the office and was successful. Since 2007, Robinson has served as Spencer County Circuit Court Clerk. She ran unopposed in the 2012 election and is now seeking her third 6-year term.
Robinson considers it a privilege to serve the citizens of Spencer County as your Circuit Court Clerk. While serving as your Circuit Court Clerk for the past 2 terms, she has done her best to perform the duties of the office efficiently and to serve the public with integrity and compassion. Being entrusted to provide this service is an honor that she does not take for granted and a responsibility she does not take lightly.
About the Circuit Court Clerk’s office:
Although the office of Circuit Court Clerk is a county elected office, Circuit Clerks are state officers within the Court of Justice and are subject to civil, criminal, and Supreme Court rules as well as state statutes.
The general public often think driver’s license issuance is the main function of the Circuit Clerk’s office and it is a very important function. However, the most important function of the office is the custodial responsibility of all court records for District, Family and Circuit Court. The Circuit Court Clerk and her deputies provide critical support to the courts while also serving as frontline contact to their customers becoming the face of the court system. Given the nature of their work as well as the rapid growth of Spencer County, the duties of the office are complex, and the workload is heavy.
Therefore, the elected office of Circuit Court Clerk requires leadership experience as well as being a working, hands-on clerk. Robinson’s extensive background along with her two terms in office have provided her with this leadership experience making her uniquely qualified to continue her role as Spencer County Circuit Court Clerk.
Robinson is incredibly grateful to her family, friends, and constituents for their past and continued support of her candidacy. On a personal note, Robinson has been married to her husband, Larry, for 38 years and they have 2 grown children. She is a Christian and attends First Baptist Church of Taylorsville.
Many improvements have been made to the operation of the office of the Spencer County Circuit Court Clerk since Robinson took office in 2007 and she would like the opportunity to continue making these improvements. Robinson remains dedicated to serving the citizens of Spencer County with integrity and in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner and respectfully asks for your continued support so she may continue to do so.

ATTENTION SPENCER COUNTY VOTERS
My name is Michael Moody, I am a Republican, and I have previously served as Magistrate for the Taylorsville area, District A101. I am seeking to be re-elected to this office.
To be re-elected to this office, I need your support and I need your vote on Primary Election Day, May 22, 2018.
There are two very important criteria I feel that members of fiscal court should be held to. The first criteria is that members of fiscal court should represent their area of the county with no conflicts of interest with other government departments or personnel, other projects, or other outside influences. The second criteria is that members of the fiscal court should make conservative, responsible, and open-minded decisions for the county as a whole. These decisions may not always be easy, but they should be made with the thought of advancement for the community as a whole. When re-elected to serve as Magistrate for the Taylorsville District, these are the criteria I will use to make decisions as they arise.
I can make conservative and objective decisions because of my past work experience and education. I have over 30 years of management experience, and for over 13 years I have been co-owner of a family business, which has been in operation for over 30 years. I have learned much about financial responsibility and adaptability during these years, and I will use my work experiences to make solid conservative decisions for Spencer County. Earlier in my life, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend Western Kentucky University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. I later attended the University of Louisville and furthered my education in accounting, finance, and economics. These educational experiences also enhance my ability to make solid conservative decisions for Spencer County.
I appreciate the input from all members of the community regarding your concerns and ideas regarding how members of fiscal court can make Spencer County better. Please contact me with your ideas. Call me at the phone numbers listed above, or just stop by.
When you tell me what is on your mind, I will listen. When you ask me a question, I will give you a straight forward answer. I will be your voice in local government.
Again, I ask for your support and I ask for your vote on
Primary Election Day, May 22, 2018.
Keep Spencer County Great !!!!
Sincerely,
Michael Moody

District 5 - Little Mount / Mount Eden
Brett N. Beaverson - Republican
Brett Beaverson and his wife of 30 years (Dorothy) live in Little Mount and are 18-year residents of
Spencer County. They have two adult daughters and two grandsons. Brett began working at Burger Queen
(Druther’s) at age 14 through high school and into college. Before graduating high school, Brett joined the
Kentucky Army National Guard. After graduating basic training and military police school he returned to
Druther’s and started college at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). At EKU, Brett joined ROTC and was
commissioned a second lieutenant in December 1985. While at EKU Brett was hired as a student worker
and graphics artist for Hall Programs. Best known for his pen and ink drawings of residence halls and
buildings around campus, which are still on display today, Brett began focusing on life and career after
college. He attended and graduated from the Military Police Officer’s Basic Course in 1988. While in
attendance he was hired by Fayette County Public Schools as an elementary art teacher.
Shortly after starting as a new teacher he and Dorothy married. As a nurse, Dorothy was beginning her
career as well when she soon gave birth to their first child (Heather). In January 1991 Brett’s national guard
unit was activated for Desert Shield/Desert Storm and after serving eight months in Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait Brett returned to teaching. He completed his master’s degree from Georgetown College but
before doing so, he attended and completed the Military Police Officer’s Advanced Course. Shortly
thereafter their second daughter (Hannah) was born. Soon, Brett ended a twelve-year career in the
national guard as a detachment commander and platoon leader.Completing his masters in secondary education, Brett began working on his principal certification at EKU.
As it turned out he never became a principal but was hired in 2000 as the Director of Operations for
Spencer County Schools. Looking for a rural area of Kentucky, Spencer County had much to offer and was
a great place to continue raising a family. Dorothy returned to school and earned her master’s in education
and taught science at Walden Academy in Louisville and later Spencer County Middle School. Currently she
teaches Medical Science at Spencer County High School.
As the Director of Operations Brett was the school nutrition director, facilities director, technology
director, transportation director, bid coordinator, and safety coordinator. As the district grew, some
responsibilities became new positions for others. Many times, Brett was the liaison between city and
county government officials and the school system. Improvements were made on emergency response
procedures and practiced in real life with tornadoes, ice storms, snow, and flooding. Desktop training on
emergency responses were conducted with emergency management, city and county police, as well as the
county road department and fire department.
Today, Brett is retired but working. Daily he drives the vocational students to Shelby County, is a
consultant with Kentucky Center for School Safety (KCSS), and has started Beaverson Home Inspections,
LLC. He enjoys pitching horseshoes on most weekends with his dad and friends, renovation projects,
beekeeping, videography, photography, drone piloting, and brewing beer. He especially enjoys time with his
two grandsons (Logan and Grayson).
These experiences helped lead Brett toward being a candidate for Magistrate in Spencer County. His
knowledge of the county road system, extensive leadership, budgeting, and communications with the
community makes Brett Beaverson the best choice for Spencer County District 5 Magistrate.
